Privacy policy
Sorelia LLC (“Sorelia,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a personal assistant that keeps track of your calendar, your reminders, and the details you ask it to remember. This Privacy Policy describes the information we collect through the Sorelia application and website (together, the “Service”), how we use and share it, and the choices available to you.
Questions about this policy or about your information may be directed to support@sorelia.ai.
1. Information we collect
Account information. Your email address and, if you provide it, your name. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address from that provider. We also record your time zone, read from your device, so that reminders are delivered at the correct local time.
Content you provide. Reminders and their schedules; saved items, including any fields you designate as sensitive; calendar events you create in Sorelia; your conversations with the assistant, including photos you attach and voice notes you record; and feedback you submit.
Connected calendar data. If you connect a Google or Microsoft calendar, we store the events and the list of calendars required to display your schedule, together with the credentials needed to keep them synchronized. We request calendar access only; we do not access your email, files, or contacts.
Subscription information. If you subscribe through the App Store, Apple notifies us of the status of your subscription. Your payment details are held by Apple and are never disclosed to us.
Technical information. Server logs and records of the assistant’s requests, retained to secure the Service, diagnose failures, and manage operating costs.
Usage information. The days on which you use the app, and how often you open an item you have saved. These records are tied to your account. We use them for features such as your streak and to understand how many people use the Service and come back to it.
Setup statistics. While you set up the app, it tells us which setup screens you reach. Each record is only the screen’s name and the time: no account, no name, and no device identifier. We use it only to count how many people reach each step.
Advertising attribution. When you sign in to the app, we ask Apple whether you installed it after tapping or seeing one of our ads on the App Store. If you did, Apple tells us which of our campaigns, ad groups, keywords, and ads it was, where on the App Store it appeared, the country or region, and when. We keep this with your account and use it only to measure which of our ads bring people who go on to subscribe. It contains no identifier for you or your device, and we do not combine it with information from other companies.
If you installed the app after seeing one of our ads somewhere else, such as Facebook or Instagram, your iPhone may tell that ad network, through Apple, how far you went: opened the app, created an account, started a free trial, or subscribed. Apple sends this a day or more later, with nothing that identifies you or your device.
Meta. The app also uses Meta’s software development kit to tell Meta, which runs Facebook and Instagram, when the app is opened, when an account is created, and when a free trial starts or a subscription is paid, with the plan’s price. With each event Meta receives an identifier its software creates for this installation, your device model, and your iOS version. Meta does not receive your name, email address, account, or anything you keep in Sorelia, and the app does not ask to track you or collect your device’s advertising identifier. We use this to measure and improve our ads on Facebook and Instagram. Meta handles it under its own data policy.
2. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- provide and operate the Service, including displaying your schedule, delivering reminders, and responding to your requests;
- maintain the security of your account and prevent abuse;
- diagnose problems and maintain the reliability of the Service;
- understand how the Service is used, such as how many people use it each day, how many come back, and how many reach each step of setup, so that we can improve it;
- measure which of our ads on the App Store, Facebook, and Instagram bring people who go on to subscribe; and
- communicate with you about your account, such as verification emails and notices of changes to this policy.
We do not sell personal information, share it with data brokers, or use it to build profiles for third parties. Apart from the app events sent to Meta described above, we share nothing with advertisers. The Service contains no advertising.
3. Artificial intelligence
The assistant is powered by Google’s Gemini API. To respond to you, your message is transmitted to Google together with the context required to answer it, which may include recent messages, your reminders and saved items, events from a connected calendar, and any photo or voice note you share. Voice notes are transcribed by the same service.
This information is not used to train or improve any artificial intelligence model, whether Google’s or ours. Our agreement with Google prohibits the use of data we submit to improve its products, and we do not train, fine-tune, or evaluate any model of our own on your content. Google is the only AI provider we use; no data is transmitted to any other AI service.
Values you designate as sensitive, such as passwords and document numbers, remain masked. The assistant processes such a value only when you ask it to save or retrieve it, and those values are removed from our request records.
Should we change AI providers, this policy will be updated to identify the new provider before the change takes effect.
4. Google user data
If you connect a Google account, Sorelia requests and uses only the following:
- Calendar events (read and write), so that your schedule appears in Sorelia and events you add, modify, or delete are reflected in Google Calendar.
- Calendar list (read only), so that you can select which calendars Sorelia displays.
- Basic account information (name, email address, and profile), to authenticate you and identify the connected Google account.
Sorelia’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used solely to provide the features described in this policy. It is never used for advertising, never sold, and never used to develop, train, or improve generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models, whether in raw, aggregated, anonymized, or otherwise derived form. It is shared only as described in Section 3 and where required by law.
You may revoke this access at any time in Sorelia’s settings or through your Google account permissions.
5. How we share information
We share information only with the service providers necessary to operate the Service, including hosting, database and file storage, email delivery, payment processing, and the AI provider identified above. Each provider receives only the information necessary to perform its function and is contractually bound to use it solely for that purpose.
Apple, Google, and Microsoft receive information when you use their sign-in, purchase, or calendar features, subject to their respective privacy policies.
We may also disclose information where required by law, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Sorelia, our users, or the public. If Sorelia is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction and will remain subject to this policy.
6. Security
Your information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Fields you designate as sensitive are encrypted separately and decrypted only when you request to view them. Each account’s data is isolated from every other account’s.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.
7. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account remains active. Clearing your chat history removes your conversations, recordings, and photos; deleting your account removes all of your information. Copies may persist in routine backups for a limited period before being overwritten.
8. Data storage
Sorelia operates from the United States, and your information is stored and processed there. If you use the Service from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you reside, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict its processing. Residents of California and other U.S. states with privacy laws have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, to obtain a copy of it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Deletion. Settings, then Delete account. This permanently erases your account and its content, including recordings and photos, and disconnects any connected calendars. Deletion cannot be undone.
- Correction. Your name and your content may be edited in the app at any time.
- Export. Email support@sorelia.ai to request a machine-readable copy of your saved items, reminders, events, and conversations. We will respond within 30 days.
Events that Sorelia added to a connected calendar remain in that calendar after deletion, as they reside in your Google or Microsoft account rather than with us. You may remove them there.
To exercise any other right, or to raise a concern about our handling of your information, contact us at support@sorelia.ai.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If a change materially affects you, we will notify you in the app before it takes effect. The effective date above reflects the current version.
